Is it difficult to change your bike chain ring?.I have a road bike i want to change the chain ring.?
I’m becoming a cyclist and I’m very interested in this sport can someone who is into it please explain about the chain ring.I’ve been staring at it and I’m wondering.
It is not difficult at all. On almost all good road bikes, the chainrings are held in place by chainring bolts, there are usually 5 of them. you need a hex key or a torx wrench to remove them. You have to determine the bolt circle diameter of your crankset to figure out what chainring will fit your crank. For road bikes with 2 chainrings, the most common bolt circle diameter(BCD) is 130 mm. Once you know the BCD of your crank, it will be easy to look for the chainring with the number of teeth that you need. If the chainrings on your bike are not separate from the center part of your crank, as happens on some inexpensive bikes, the only way to change a chainring is by buying a whole new crankset.
