Scream Machine’s long-awaited sophomore album “Nona” is available for .mp3 download and on hard copy through iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, Napster and many other online digital distribution outlets.

Already big hit on the Web, this album is sure to please old-school industrial fans and new industrial fans alike. “Nona” is the follow up to Scream Machine’s first independent release, “Spider Riot.” Described by Scream Machine frontman Cosmo Morte as being “very different from Spider Riot,” the new album takes the listener down a diverse road, into obsessive love, murder, violence, suicide pacts and mental illness with an honesty and intensity that grabs the listener immediately. The subject matter is not for the squeamish.

Mixing hardcore gabber beats and bass, industrial sounds, metal, rock and punk guitars with Scream Machine frontwoman SinDelle Morte’s alternately sexy and ripping vocals, songs like “Folie a Deux”, “Anthropophagus”, “Hell’s Winter” and “Rattlesnake” have become instant web singles and instant favorites. But Scream Machine is not your everyday mainstream industrial sound. According to SinDelle Morte, “A lot of the industrial and electronic music today sounds really over-processed to us. It’s industrial. It’s not pop. It’s supposed to be hard and heavy and gritty and nasty-sounding. We want to kind of get away from that over-processed sound.”

Scream Machine was MyStage Music’s Featured Experimental Artist of The Month, March 2009 and they continue to do well across the web, holding the #3 spot on ReverbNation‘s Local Metal Charts for months. Scream Machine is also played on many radio stations and has been well-received overseas. The Scream Machine song, “Hell’s Winter” was remixed by Australian band Sick Cycle and is soon to be released by their label.

Scream Machine can be found on many sites across the web, including Last.fm, SoundClick, PureVolume, ReverbNation and MySpace. Goth's Dark Empire

Goth’s Dark Empire

$15.95

In Goth’s Dark Empire cultural historian Carol Siegel provides a fascinating look at Goth, a subculture among Western youth. It came to prominence with punk performers such as Marilyn Manson and was made infamous when it was linked (erroneously) to the Columbine High School murders. While the fortunes of Goth culture form a portion of this book’s story, Carol Siegel is more interested in pursuing Goth as a means of resisting regimes of sexual normalcy, especially in its celebration of sadomasochism (S/M). The world of Goth can appear wide-ranging: from films such as Edward Scissorhands and The Crow to popular fiction such as Anne Rice’s “vampire” novels to rock bands such as Nine Inch Nails. But for Siegel, Goth appears as a mode of being sexually undead — and loving it. What was Goth and what happened to it? In this book, Siegel tracks Goth down, reveals the sources of its darkness, and shows that Goth as a response to the modern world has not disappeared but only escaped underground.
