will a “risotto” made with long-grain rice be in any way delectable?
I know what kind of rice should be used and that long-grain will not necessarily result in a traditional risotto, however I only have long-grain. I want to know if it will be worth making with this substitution?
-I apologize in advance to you traditionalist/Italian culinary artists, please excuss my corner cutting ways.
It will probably turn out more like a rice pilaf than a true risotto, which tends to stick together.
However, I’m sure it will still be a delicious side starch.
In fact, I’d call it a “mushroom pilaf” (or whatever your flavor is) instead of risotto, then everyone will think you planned it that way.
