Keeping warm while in your wedding gown and being outside?
I live in PA and we have been hit with a cold-snap. The days are usually still fairly warm here in October, but this year is different – today and the next few temps will be in the 40′s … BRRR! … for the high.
We were planning to take some pictures in a park before our wedding at the end of the month, and aside from praying for it to warm up, I need to be prepared to be outside for an hour to hour and a half for pictures in some chilly temperatures.
I’m wondering what other people have done to keep warm in-between photos, or were you just so excited that you didn’t notice that it was cold?
I’m looking into capes and shawls (at least it is Halloween time so there are tons of capes available for sale in costume shops). But I would love to hear other ideas.
Get a nice quality cloak. It’s pretty, romantic, and will keep you warm. Not the costume-shop kind, the SCA-garb kind. (Being that your avatar is in garb, I assume you’re no stranger to it.)
I had a friend make a cloak for me; the bottom layer is winter fleece, the top layer is a lighter-weight faux suede-type fabric. It has saved my butt on many a chilly night, and not only at Renn. faires. It’s the best wear for any chilly outdoor event when everyone else is wrapped in blankets.
