HELP, you read the OSCAR WILDE quote and answer: What is Wide suggesting about HUMAN CONDITION?

Hi
My question is for a English class….I am a English learner and my principal language is Spanish.
The quote:
“In this world there are two tragedies. One is not getting what one wants, and the other is getting it.” O W
What is wide suggesting about the human condition?
Do you agree or disagree with his view?

SORRY, the quote:

“In this world there are ONLY two tragedies. One is not getting want one wants, and the other is getting it”

TY

I do strongly agree with master Wilde. One of a few true genious mankind has seen.

I think he meant man does not know what is the difference between what is worth-doing and what is profitable.

We, as innocent creatures ignore the very meaning of our existence, therefore we guess. We pick choices, we risk and in more than 50 % of the chances we loose. Or at least we think we do so.

Man is born with the certain knowledge of its own mortality. Or should I say “uncertain”?
That is what makes him unhappy, in other words his soul is ill. And when you are ill, you cannot distinguish friend from foe.

“I know I was born and I know that I´ll die… the in-between is mine…”
Eddie Vedder.

Creed burst out of Florida with 1997′s My Own Prison, a dark but commercial debut reminiscent of the early-’90s Seattle sound. Creed’s moody guitar grunge and ardent lyrics, coupled with singer Scott Stapp’s passionate vocals, helped My Own Prison sell millions. Human Clay demonstrates that this likable quartet hasn’t messed with success; they turn in a sophomore outing rife with evocative moodine…

It took a few years, but the “Seattle sound” migrated south. In 1997 Creed emerged from the sunny state of Florida wielding dark and dulcet postgrunge tones. Their 10-cut debut, My Own Prison, has became a surprising success by filling a niche for needy teen gloom-rockers. Singer Scott Stapp has the soulful and rich Eddie Vedder inflections down pat, but despite Creed’s slightly hackneyed approach…
